3 Time-Saving Tips When it Comes to Faith, Fitness & Food

3 Time-Saving Tips When it Comes to Faith, Fitness & Food

November 26, 2024 | Food

I’ll never forget a season when I said “yes” to everything to keep others happy. Between commitments to family, church, work, and friends, my schedule was packed—and the first things to go were the priorities that mattered most to me: my time with God, my workouts, and my focus on eating well. I told myself I’d “catch up later,” but the truth is, it left me feeling drained and disconnected.

With the holiday season right around the corner, it’s so easy for our schedules to feel even more overwhelming. That’s why I want to share these three time-saving tips now. They’ll help you protect what’s most important—your faith, fitness, and food habits—even during the busiest times of year.

1. Cook Once, Eat Multiple Times

Preparing meals doesn’t have to feel like a daily chore. When you cook, make extra of your proteins or vegetables so you can repurpose them throughout the week.

  • Grill or bake a batch of chicken to use in salads, wraps, or stir-fries.
  • Roast a tray of veggies to enjoy as side dishes, in grain bowls, or even in omelets.
By cooking once and eating multiple times, you’ll save both time and stress while keeping your meals nutritious and satisfying.

2. Make Your Workouts More Efficient

You don’t need to spend hours working out to get great results. Incorporating multi-muscle exercises into your routine allows you to work smarter, not harder. Multi-muscle movements (like squats with presses or lunges with rows) engage several muscle groups at once, giving you a full-body workout in less time.

  • On the website, you can search "multi muscle" or "total body" in the search bar
  • Check out the video below for some examples to try

3. Invite God Into Every Moment

Spending time with God doesn’t have to feel like another item on your to-do list. You can turn everyday moments into opportunities to connect with Him.
  • Listen to Scripture during your commute or while walking (one of my personal favorites!).
  • Pray in the shower or while cooking dinner.
  • Meditate on a verse as you’re waiting in line or doing household tasks.
By inviting God into your daily rhythms, you’ll stay spiritually grounded, no matter how full your schedule is.

A little intentionality goes a long way. Whether it’s cooking, exercising, or praying, these tips help you honor your time while staying faithful to your goals.

Which one will you try this week?
