Psalm 46:10
“Be still and know that I am God”
Psalm 65: 5-8
“I depend on God alone; I put my hope in him. He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated. My salvation and honor depend on God; he is my strong protector; he is my shelter. Trust in God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for he is our refuge.”
Action:
Today, we just want you to sit quietly with God. Try and set aside at least 30 minutes, but you can definitely sit with him for longer! Try and come before God without an agenda, and just ask him what’s on His heart and His mind. Allow this time to be free and unstructured. Ask any questions you want. Ask Him to help you in any area of your life that you are struggling with. Even if you don’t “feel” any different after sitting with Him, I can promise you that He is doing a good work in your heart!
There is a beautiful prayer in Ephesians, and I want to end our week together praying this over you. My hope is you will choose to pray (and maybe even memorize) this beautiful prayer. Pray it over your life and the life of others.
“When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resource,s he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” (Eph. 3:14-21)
Here is a great song to illustrate this point. It is called Welcome Home by Shaun Groves.
