How many times have you tried to lose weight or get in shape, only to give up before reaching your goal? You are not alone. In a world where staying slim and fit is seen as a marker of success, it's easy to get discouraged when we feel we keep falling short. But I have good news! With a little guidance, I can help you change the way you think about dieting and fitness. Over the next five days, I will share ideas to help you feel good, look healthy, and stay motivated!

Let's start by rethinking traditional weight loss methods and the concept of "diets." Instead of focusing solely on losing weight, begin your new health journey by turning to God's word to understand your true identity and the depth of His love for you. The Bible reassures you that you are valuable, wonderful, and forgiven. It emphasizes that God's love for you is unconditional and unending. Embracing these truths will help you see yourself, your body, and your health in a completely new light.

By replacing negative thoughts with the truths God says about you, you'll gain a fresh perspective. Instead of strictly denying yourself your favorite foods, you'll focus on nurturing your soul and partnering with God to achieve your goals. Recognizing and replacing negative thinking with God's positive truths will put you on the path to lasting changes.

This new approach will also help you extend more grace to yourself and stop dwelling on past failures. Focus on the future, knowing that with God's help, you can change your thoughts, attitude, and actions. David Crowder’s song, “Come As You Are,” invites you to leave past failures behind and embrace a new beginning. Take a moment to listen to it and be inspired.

In Matthew 28, Jesus promises, “I will be with you always, even unto the ends of the world.” This assurance means you don’t have to do this alone. God is present and active in your life, ready for you to tap into His limitless power and resources. Together, you can achieve your goals!

Over the next few days, you will discover the ABCs of fitness and continue to understand how the Bible can transform your thinking about yourself, dieting, and your health.

Before moving on, I want to let you know that I understand that breaking old habits and creating new ones can be incredibly challenging. Although you are not alone in your struggle to lose weight and get healthy, your journey is unique to you. Celebrate your victories, no matter how minor they may seem, and know that each one brings you closer to your goal.

PSALMS 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:12

“I have the right to do anything,” you say-but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”-but I will not be mastered by anything.
